Collingwood star blasts rapid unbeaten century in country cricket

Jack Ginnivan swapped the footy boots for some cricket whites on Saturday and showcased his other sporting talents with a devastating century in country cricket.

The Magpies forward lined up for his local club, Barkers Creek, opening the batting in the A reserves match against Castlemaine United.

In a chase of 7-207, Ginnivan punished Castlemaine with an unbeaten 118 off just 85 balls.

He blasted a whopping 18 boundaries along the way, including seven sixes, as Barkers Creek won by eight wickets.

Earlier, Ginnivan also rolled the arm over, with figures of 0-23 from five overs.

Second XI captain Sean Grant told the Herald Sun that Ginnivan continues to try and turn out for the club, where he has been playing since juniors.

“I don’t know if he’s had a hit this season but the eye-hand co-ordination is certainly there,” he told the publication.

“He wasn’t even scratchy at the start … he did well for himself and did well for the team, which was important for us.”
