Apart from the initial stride, Friday’s $27,465 Wanganui Distance final turned into a freewheeling, pace-making triumph for Dusty Gambler who strongly dictated the terms to his race rivals when he stylishly won the 755m Group 1 staying test in a tidy 44.52s.
