It’s the annual Kolorful Kanvas Robinson Rosebowl time again with the 2019 edition of the $7,500 520m feature event being decided at the Addington Raceway this evening. Just five greyhounds will contest the race, however all five of these chasers are capable of returning to the postrace podium.

The Ray Adcock prepared Start The Show ($3 & $1.22 - TAB Final Field & Top 3) has been delivering competitive recent 520m races around this circuit. Drawing the two trap here certainly enhances his claims. He set the pace in his last 520m outing here, then he yielded to the strong finishing Dyna Dave during the run home, finishing a 5.75 length third to him in a swiftly run 520m event. His prior 520m race saw him lead home Dyna Dave by a 1.15 length margin, clocking 30.23s.

Craig Roberts mentored Dirk Bale to victory in last year’s Robinson Rosebowl and he’s looking to Dirk’s litter brother Avenger Bale ($5 & $1.45) to provide him with a repeat win. This fella recently resumed from an extended spell and he showed his race fitness is improving when he finished solidly for his four-length 520m third to race rival here Egomaniacal last Thursday. He is provided with swooping claims from the eight trap here, especially as there are two vacant traps on his immediate inside.

His kennel mate Dyna Varsity ($3.90 & $1.32) is returning here after his luckless Tuesday C5 457m Ascot Park race. He was forced to race out wide heading into and then around the big sweeping bend after jumping from trap eight. He is capable of pushing forward onto the early pace after he exits from trap four – he must use that tactic here.

As mentioned, Egomaniacal ($3.70 & $1.30) prevailed in last Thursday’s Addington 520m event when he was sighted cruising to his tidy 30.18s win. It promises to be an inter-family clash as this bloke is prepared by Roberts’ son Dan. Egomaniacal owns a terrific inside trap record and drawing the one trap here says he commands total respect here.

Gary Cleeve is likely to be rubbing his hands together in glee at the small field size here as his strong finishing contender Know State ($6 & $1.70) is likely to receive clear racing air which will enable him to wind up when delivering his usual strong finish. He returns to this track after he claimed his bold last start Forbury Park C4/5 32.91s 545m win. He shouldn’t be overly fazed about being required to hop away from the five trap here.
