Evergreen galloper Authentic Paddy is in fine fettle as he prepares for Saturday’s Gr.3 Platinum Homes Taranaki Cup (1800m).
Trainer Lisa Latta is pleased with her Gr.1 Zabeel Classic (2000m) winner as he looks to shake off an uncharacteristically poor performance at his most recent run at Trentham.
“He’s fit and ready to go for Saturday although I do think he is up against it,” Latta said.
“The wide draw is a real worry and it is a field with plenty of depth. Despite that I’m confident that he will put in his usual honest effort.
“His main mission is the Herbie Dyke at Te Rapa next week. He is at his best on the back-up so this run should have him spot on for that.”
The Gr.1 Herbie Dyke Stakes (2000m) is the feature event at Te Rapa on 10 February.
