Sydney jockey Jason Collett will miss important lead up meetings for the Sydney Spring Carnival after being suspended for careless riding by Racing NSW stewards at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

Collett, riding second placed Al Mah Haha in the first race of the programme, the Pluck@Vinery Handicap (1100m) for three-year-old's, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that approaching the winning post, he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of Puppet Master and apprentice Rachel King whilst riding it along, resulting in Puppet Master clipping the heels of Al Mah Haha, blundering and dislodging King passing the winning post.

King was not injured but stood down from further rides at the meeting.

Collett’s was suspended for a period to commence on Sunday, 6 August 2017 and to expire on Saturday, 2 September 2017 on which day he may ride again.

After Saturday's Missile Stakes meeting at Randwick Collett will miss The Rosebud meeting at Rosehill on August 12th, Warwick Stakes meeting at Randwick on August 19th, San Domenico Stakes meeting at Rosehill on August 26th and return for the Chelmsford Stakes meeting at Randwick on September 2nd.
