Former Cambridge galloper Sacred Rebel has made an immediate impact from the Gold Coast arm of Chris Waller’s operation.

The winner of two races for Tony Pike, the three-year-old won over 1400m at Caloundra on Saturday in his first start from his new quarters.

Kiwi jockey Michael McNab, who is riding for Waller in Queensland, was unable to be part of the success when he couldn’t make the 54kg and Skye Bogenhuber picked up the mount.

“It was just a thrill to have my first ride for Chris, let alone win on it. Sacred Rebel is a really nice horse and I can only thank him for the ride,” she said.
