The following is a summary of decisions that were made by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Licensing Committee at their meeting held earlier on Friday:-
 
1. The Committee resolved to:-
  1.1 grant, subject to a satisfactory medical examination and an undertaking to arrive in Hong Kong no later than Sunday, 19 August 2018:-
  •          a full season Club Jockey’s licence to each of the following jockeys for the 2018/2019 racing season:-
•        Neil Callan
•        Zac Purton
•        Umberto Rispoli
•        Chad Schofield
•        Karis Teetan
•        Douglas Whyte
 
  •          a part-season Club Jockey’s licence to each of the following jockeys for the 2018/2019 racing season to commence on 16 July 2018 and to expire on 17 February 2019, both dates inclusive:-
•        Sam Clipperton
•        Callan Murray
•        Alberto Sanna
•        Grant van Niekerk
 
  1.2 grant, subject to a satisfactory medical examination, a part-season Club Jockey’s licence to Alexis Badel for the period 1 November 2018 until 17 February 2019, both dates inclusive.
 
2. The Committee resolved to:-
  2.1 grant, subject to a satisfactory medical examination, a Freelance Jockey’s licence for the 2018/2019 racing season to each of the following applicants:-
•      Matthew CHADWICK
•      Vincent HO Chak Yiu
•      Alex LAI Hoi Wing
•      Eddy LAI Wai Ming
•      Derek LEUNG Ka Chun
•      Alvin NG Ka Chun
•      Ben SO Tik Hung
•      Jack WONG Ho Nam
•      Keith YEUNG Ming Lun
 
  2.2 direct Management to inform Freelance Jockey Eddy W M Lai that his race riding performance during the current racing season is of concern and that his overall race riding performance for the 2018/2019 racing season will be closely monitored.
  2.3 direct Management to inform Freelance Jockey Alvin K C Ng that his overall race riding performance during the current racing season is unsatisfactory and should it not improve significantly during the 2018/2019 racing season he will likely be asked to appear before the Committee should he wish to pursue being granted a further Freelance Jockey’s licence.
 
3. The Committee resolved to grant, subject to a satisfactory medical examination, an Apprentice Jockey’s licence for the 2018/2019 racing season to each of the following applicants:-
•        Dylan MO Hin Tung (allocated to Trainer: Danny C S Shum)
•        Matthew POON Ming Fai (allocated to Trainer: David Hall)
•        Victor WONG Chun (allocated to Trainer: Tony Millard)
 
 
4. The Committee:-
 
  4.1 resolved to grant a Trainer’s licence for the 2018/2019 racing season to each of the following Trainers, subject to a satisfactory medical examination being undertaken and the signing of an agreement with the Club:-

  4.2 resolved that at the conclusion of the current 2017/2018 racing season, should Trainer Almond Lee fail to meet the requirements of the Trainer’s Performance Criteria, he will be required to appear before the Committee should he wish to pursue being granted a Trainer’s licence for the 2018/2019 racing season. 
 
  4.3 noted the written advice provided by Trainer Derek Cruz confirming that in the event of him failing to meet the requirements of the Trainer’s Performance Criteria for the current 2017/2018 racing season, he will not pursue being granted a Trainer’s licence for the 2018/2019 racing season.  
 
5. The Committee resolved to:-
 
  5.1 grant currently licensed Assistant Trainer Jimmy TING Koon Ho a Trainer’s Licence for the 2018/2019 racing season, subject to the usual formalities, to fill an anticipated vacancy.
 
  5.2 approve the Trainer’s Licence of Jimmy TING Koon Ho for the 2018/2019 racing season to become effective on 16 July 2018 in order for him to become eligible to receive horses into his stable when end-of-season transfers occur.   

 
6. The Committee resolved to:-
 
  6.1 grant an Assistant Trainer’s licence for the 2018/2019 racing season to each of the currently licensed Assistant Trainers listed below (where “CTC” means Conghua Training Cenrtre):-
 
 

 
  6.2 promote the following applicants to the position of Assistant Trainer for the 2018/2019 racing season:-
