In-form mare Let Her Rip has black type targets ahead of her.

Cambridge trainer Shaune Ritchie will give the four-year-old her first chance in the Gr.2 Westbury Classic over 1400 metres at Ellerslie on March 11.

"There's some very good mares around at the moment, but she's entitled to have a crack at it and that will be a good test for her," Ritchie said.

"If she runs very well then she could go to the New Zealand Breeders' Stakes at Te Aroha a month later.

"There is a little question mark about the mile, but she won well over 1400 metres on a slow track the other day."

Let Her Rip, who advanced her record to four victories from 14 starts at New Plymouth last time out, has had two previous attempts at a mile.

She finished fifth in last season's Gr.1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas and was subsequently unplaced over the trip at Sandown during a three-start Victorian campaign.

Meanwhile, the distance is the least of Ritchie's worries with his Gr.1 Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup hope Snow Secret.

"She was unlucky in the Wellington Cup when she got held up at the wrong time and she's a dead-set two-miler and El Soldado will make sure it is a genuinely run race," he said.

Snow Secret was a last-start fourth over 2400 metres at Te Rapa.
