The immediate programme of the Group One winner Rangipo will be decided after he resumes at Ellerslie on Saturday.

Trainer Tony Pike said they would firm up plans for the five-year-old following the Ray White NZ 1200m.

“He’s the soundest we’ve ever had him and it’s a nice chance to see where we are with him.

“If he happened to run a real bottler then we might look to the Railway.”

Last year’s Gr.1 New Zealand Derby (2400m) winner, Rangipo hasn’t raced since he was unplaced in the Gr.1 Tarzino Trophy (1400m) after sitting three wide without cover from the outside gate.
