Ivy's Gold continued the good form the Stephen Marsh stable is having while the boss is away on holiday, the three-year-old filly digging deep to take out the $20,000 J Swap 1400 (Rating 65) at Te Rapa.

The Australian-bred Ivy's Gold was resuming after failing at the beginning of the year, but was a recent trial winner at Avondale a fortnight ago.

Strongly urged from the start by rider Matt Cameron, Ivy's Gold sat outside the leaders four wide throughout. On entering the home turn, Cameron headed for the middle of track and looked to be overtaken by Keep On Coming on their outside with 200m to run. Hard ridden by Cameron, the pair got to the front just short of the post to win by a head to Keep On Coming (L.Allpress) in second, with Single Shot (V.Gatu) one length back in third. The winning time was 1min 26.56.

Ivy's Gold has now won two and placed twice in five starts and earned just under $20,000 in prizemoney.

Go Racing Ltd purchased the daughter of Murtajill for $12,000 at the 2014 Karaka Festival Sale.

Ivy's Gold's win took Marsh earnings over the $1 million mark the stable has earned this season. Marsh currently lies ninth on the Trainer's Premiership ladder with 44 wins for the season - including seven stakes victories. Marsh also scored his first Group One victory with Sofia Roasa taking out the Australian Oaks.
