The Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman training partnership have a two pronged attack at today's Listed $75,000 Fasttrackinsurance Hawke's Bay Gold Cup (2200m).

Promising galloper Saint Emilion will try to win two Cup's in a week after the Mastercraftsman gelding led all the way when taking out the J. Swap Te Aroha Cup (2200m) last week. The victory was his eighth win from 19 starts, and he has earned over $110,000 in stakes.

He will have a change of rider, with Opie Bosson taking the mount on the four-year-old. Last week's winning rider Matt Cameron rides stablemate and topweight Maygrove.

Maygrove has returned to form that won him last year's Group 2 Wellington Cup (2400m) then went on to race in Australia. Although not tasting success, the Authorized gelding finished creditable fourth placings in three Group 3 races in Melbourne during October.

After two close up second placings over shorter distances, Maygrove won the Group 2 Awapuni Gold Cup (2000m) at his last start on a heavy10 at the start on the month. The victory was his sixth from 32 starts and he has earned over $300,000 in stakes.

The Hawke's Bay Gold Cup is one of New Zealand's oldest Racedays, first run over 150 years ago.
