Drawn barrier one, Summer's Day was Ridden by Danielle Johnson, herself returning to riding since injuring her hand in a fall in April, the pair settled midfield on the rail then easing off be three wide turning for home.

Half-way down the straight, Summer's Day looked to finish in the minor placings until getting the better of Underthemoonlight just short of the post, winning by half a head. Warhorse John Gray, another backing up after winning last week, battled on gamely to finish third.
