Perseverance paid off for Nina Arora and her Pukekohe trainer Nigel Tiley, after the three-year-old filly broke through with her first win in convincing style in the $10,000 NRM 1600 at Te Rapa on Saturday.

The daughter of Don Eduardo was having her fifth race-day start, having been placed in her last three including a close-up third last start at Ellerslie a fortnight ago.

With Michael McNab aboard, the pair settled handy three back on the fence, then challenged for the lead soon after turning for home and raced away to win comfortably by four and half lengths. Craftyeva finished second, with On The Edge another half-length away in third. The winning time was 1.37.3

Bred and part-owned by the The Bohemian Trust, the remaining share holders are Cole Play Syndicate, R Healey and R Williams.
