Robbo to miss Roosters' Rd 4 clash after testing positive to Covid-19

Trent Robinson will be forced to coach the Roosters’ Round 4 clash with the Cowboys from home after testing positive to Covid-19.

The Roosters released a statement on Tuesday to confirm the coach is self-isolating and will not travel with the squad to Townsville for their Saturday fixture.

“I’m feeling fine and am very comfortable with the plans we have in place, and I’ll be back at the club next week,” Robinson said.

The Roosters will remain in Queensland after the Cowboys game given their Round 5 clash is against the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium. Robinson will join the squad once his isolation period is complete.

It comes after Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon missed Round 1 — his debut game — after contracting Covid-19.

It’s an untimely blow for the Roosters who have had an inconsistent start to the 2022 season. They were stunned by the Knights in Round 1, before bouncing back with a clinical performance against Manly and then being outclassed by arch rivals, the Rabbitohs last week.
