Raiders star ruled out as Manly young gun gets his chance after big blow: NRL Late Mail

Manly will once again be without Josh Schuster, who hasn’t recovered from a quad injury but coach Anthony Siebold has given another rising star “a chance”.

Meanwhile, a Raiders star has been ruled out and the Titans could rush a new recruit into their 17.

Late Mail: Sea Eagles playmaker Josh Schuster will miss another week after sitting out of the club’s Round 5 clash with a quad injury. “We’ve tried to make sure we are looking after Josh and we want him to play against Penrith, but it is a long year,” head coach Anthony Seibold said. “When he could feel it on Wednesday, we thought we should be smart about it.”

Seibold also revealed Kaeo Weekes will slot into the starting five-eighth position, beating out off-season recruit Cooper Johns. “I think he has been really effective for us off the bench... he deserves an opportunity,” Seibold said.
