Ricky’s Raiders set to re-sign key trio in big boost amid Wighton battle

The Raiders are reportedly set to re-sign Corey Horsburgh, Emre Guler and Hudson Young on long-term extensions to remain in the nation’s capital.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Guler has reportedly agreed to a three-year deal to remain under Ricky Stuart until the end of 2026.

Meanwhile, Young and Horsburgh are said to be close to signing their respective extensions to join Joseph Tapine, who also re-signed until the end of 2027.

Horsburgh’s current contract has a mutual option for 2025, while Young can negotiate with rivals for 2025 come November 1.

Canberra bosses have moved to lock in the trio in preparation for veteran prop Josh Papali’i’s retirement.

The representative gun has an option in his favour for the 2025 season and could well decide to hang up the boots.

The news comes in the midst of a contract battle to retain superstar playmaker Jack Wighton.

The 30-year-old shocked the Canberra club by informing them he would hit the open market.

The Raiders have reportedly tabled a whopping four-year extension worth $4.4 million with rival clubs circling to poach the five-eighth.

Wayne Bennett’s Dolphins are reportedly in the race and has previously stated he’d be willing to pay Wighton north of $1 million-per-season.
