Dolphins lose prop but set to welcome back Milford; Manly’s tough Turbo call: Late Mail

The Dolphins have received mixed news ahead of their clash with the Raiders on Saturday.

A veteran prop has been ruled out with a thumb injury, but playmaker Anthony Milford is set to be a late addition.

Manly will err on the side of caution with superstar Tom Trbojevic ruled out of this weekend’s clash with the Gold Coast Titans.

Meanwhile the Panthers will call up a young gun with bench star Spencer Leniu set to miss out due to injury, while Bulldogs Prop Max King is out of the side’s clash with the Dragons with a rib fracture, according to Phil Gould.

The Bulldogs are also considering a late switch that could see teenage prodigy Karl Oloapu make his debut.

The Warriors have received a big boost with playmaker Dylan Walker escaping a ban and being cleared to play in Sunday’s clash with the Roosters.

Walker was hit with a grade two dangerous contact charge after his elbow made contact with Eli Katoa’s head on Tuesday and faced a two to three-game ban.

He pleaded not guilty and fronted the judiciary on Thursday afternoon and although he did not get cleared of the charge it was downgraded to a grade one and he received a $2,500 fine instead.

The Panthers are facing the prospect of being without their superstar No.7 and the Broncos are sweating on the fitness of a key backrower with three players already sidelined.

Speaking on NRL360 on Wednesday night, Fox League’s James Hooper revealed the consensus with the club is that the 18-year-old is “ready to go”. The Daily Telegraph’s Michael Carayannis believes Ciraldo will make a late switch to ease the talented playmaker into the NRL, shifting him onto the bench. “It would not shock me if he starts off the bench this weekend,” Cayarannis said. Samuel Hughes would be the likely man to make way if the Bulldogs do make a late change. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs have been dealt another injury blow with Viliame Kikau expected to return for the final games of the season. The club released an injury update with Kikau’s expected return listed as Round 22 after scans revealed a full rupture of his pectoral tendon.
