The stage is set for Game 1 of the 2023 State of Origin series in Adelaide as the New South Wales Blues host the Queensland Maroons in what promises to be a thrilling affair.

The series opener will take place at the Adelaide Oval — but what time will it actually start?

The game is scheduled to kick off at 7.35pm local time, so that’s 8.05pm AEST.

That’s slightly earlier than last year, when matches were seet for 8.10pm, but as is often the case the match start slightly after the scheduled time.
