Blues Origin twist as Walker ruled out; Kevin Walters explains Broncos bench call: NRL Late Mail

South Sydney — and potentially the NSW Blues — have suffered a big blow with Cody Walker set to miss Saturday’s clash with the Dragons.

Walker has been ruled out with a quad strain suffered in training this week — with the injury a serious hit to his hopes of a NSW Origin call-up, and a spanner in the works when it comes to the chances of his ex-Souths teammate Adam Reynolds.

Meanwhile, Broncos coach Kevin Walters has confirmed a bench shake-up.

Plus — the Eels face a huge dilemma about how to replace five-eighth Dylan Brown after he was stood down by the NRL under the no-fault stand down policy as he fights “sexual touching” allegations.

Daejarn Asi will be the man to take over at five-eighth and the 22-year-old will reportedly be in the role for at least three weeks.
