Expert Brownlow Medal tips: Wild three-way tie tipped but repeat winner the favourite

The Geelong Cats and Sydney Swans are officially into the 2022 AFL Grand Final but before this year’s premier is crowned, the league’s best and fairest must first be announced.

Brisbane’s Lachie Neale is the favourite to take out the Brownlow Medal but faces stiff competition from a host of other big names, including Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver and Christian Petracca.

Carlton’s Patrick Cripps, Fremantle’s Andrew Brayshaw and Gold Coast’s Touk Miller could also have a say about that.

We have already looked at how those six contenders could fare in the voting but here is the final call from all of our experts on who (and that could be plural) will take out the top gong!

Eddie Betts: Three-way tie between Lachie Neale, Clayton Oliver and Patrick Cripps

Dermott Brereton: Clayton Oliver

Jonathan Brown: Lachie Neale

Nathan Buckley: Lachie Neale

Ben Cotton: Clayton Oliver

Ben Dixon: Lachie Neale

Catherine Healey: Patrick Cripps

Anthony Hudson: Clayton Oliver

Drew Jones: Andrew Brayshaw

David King: Clayton Oliver

Jordan Lewis: Lachie Neale

Kath Loughnan: Lachie Neale

Max Laughton: “Lachie Neale is my pick as the safest option, but Clayton Oliver has the better chance of a huge haul of votes (more variability). Touk Miller the best chance of the rest to win, but needs lots of 1 and 2 vote games which are less predictable.”

Alastair Lynch: Tie between Lachie Neale and Clayton Oliver

Leigh Montagna: Three-way tie between Lachie Neale, Clayton Oliver and Patrick Cripps

Cameron Mooney: Clayton Oliver

Nick Riewoldt: Lachie Neale

Ben Waterworth: Lachie Neale

David Zita: Patrick Cripps
