Richmond AFLW player Jess Hosking charged over alleged jet ski drunk driving

Richmond AFLW star Jess Hosking has been charged with allegedly driving a jet ski while under the influence of alcohol in Queensland.

Hosking was on holiday with teammates Grace Egan and Eilish Sheerin when the incident took place.

Police allege Hosking was driving a personal water craft on December 4 in Surfers Paradise, and claim she was over the middle alcohol limit (0.10) but not the high alcohol limit (0.15).

“Richmond is aware of an incident in Queensland over the weekend involving AFLW player Jess Hosking,” the Tigers said in a statement.

“Hosking has been charged for driving a jet ski while under the influence of alcohol.

“The AFL has been informed of the incident and as this matter is currently under investigation by Queensland Police we are unable to make any further comment.”

The AFL also said it was aware of the incident.

Hosking was recently forced to apologise after offensive messages were written and visible on her taped shoulders during Richmond’s semi-final loss to North Melbourne.

After the latter incident the AFL said “Hosking was extremely remorseful and deeply disappointed in her actions. The AFL has since accepted a letter of apology from Jess and has issued an official warning to the club and Jess regarding the offensive language.”
