UK Esports Team Committee adds five new organisations

The organisations are expected to provide additional support that contributes to other committee members’ efforts. Moreover, the new members will look to spearhead committee initiatives.

The UKETC was launched earlier this year by a number of UK esports companies such as Fnatic, EXCEL, Endpoint, and London Spitfire, among others. The committee aims to serve as a ‘collective voice’ for UK esports teams across industry discussions, and is supported by the British Esports Association.

The UK Esports Team Committee noted in a release: “The journey so far has been fruitful and while we aren’t quite ready to share details of our first major step and initiatives, we will all continue to work hard to deliver improvements to the UK Esports scene as a whole.

“Taking on the new members will aim to improve the quality and speed at which we are able to deliver our objectives, which are improving sustainability, credibility and the ecosystem for UK esports organisations as a whole.”

The new organisations include known FIFA-based esports and community brand FUTWIZ, esports organisation and World of Warcraft guild Method and Wolves Esports, the esports arm of Premier League football club Wolverhampton Wanderers,

The trio is joined by LDN UTD, an esports organisation focused on healthy lifestyle and social issues, and Resolve, an organisation that recently acquired Barrage Esports earlier this year.

Esports Insider says: It’s good to see the UKETC welcoming more teams and its further enlargement should help the UK esports scene. Still, the committee has yet to announce any new plans for activations and concrete ideas. So, we will have to wait and see how the UKETC will impact the esports ecosystem.
