Sam Kings Horse Racing Tips Today

Sam King tipped a 14/1 winner at Kempton on Wednesday and he’s back with three fabulous selections for this fine Friday’s racing.

Sandown hosts some competitive action this afternoon, and that's where we head for our first selection.

The Beck Handicap at 3.50 sees nine go to post and it's clear to see why the Simon and Ed Crisford-trained Penzance has found himself at the top of the market.

That said, he looks short enough to me at a general current price of 11/10 and I'm happy to take him on with Zara's Return.

William Stone has saddled three winners from his last seven runners at Sandown (43%) and Zara's Return makes plenty of appeal on her first outing at this venue.

She stayed on strongly to land a mile handicap on the Rowley Mile in Newmarket and shaped nicely when fourth off this mark over the same trip at Leicester later that month. The daughter of Zarak could probably have done with a stiffer finish on that occasion, and she definitely gets that here at Sandown.

On her last two starts, all her best work has been at the finish and the step up to ten furlongs could easily bring about further improvement.

Ground conditions look ideal for her this afternoon, and I think she has a live each-way chance at the current prices.

Selection: Zara's Return – General 9/1

We head to Wales for our second selection. Rod Millman has been in decent form of late and Airshow should be taking out the Istadia Solutions Outdoor LED Screens Supports Handicap at Chepstow (3.25).

The eight-year-old has been unlucky not to win at Chepstow thus far having placed on all four outings over course and distance.

The Showcasing gelding escapes a penalty for comfortably making all in an apprentice handicap at Goodwood on quick ground a week ago and with Oliver Searle now able to claim a full 7lb he can follow up.

Selection: Airshow – General 6/4

Our third and final selection comes from York and I'm hoping it pays to give No Nay Nicki another chance in the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Handicap at 4.45.

Richard Fahey's filly disappointed at Musselburgh thirteen days ago but is clearly capable. She caught the eye when a running on eighth behind some reopposing rivals over course and distance in May and now finds herself here off 4lb lower.

The daughter of No Nay Never finished runner-up off 84 over track and trip last season and certainly looks weighted to play a key role.

Stall thirteen looks a likely positive with plenty of pace to aim at on that side of the track and she's selected to double her career tally by capitalising on a falling mark.

Selection: No Nay Nicki – General 8/1
