Royal Ascot winner Crimson Advocate will be given time off over the summer and head to the Breeders’ Cup in early November.

The Nyquist filly was a narrow winner of the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot for US-based trainer George Weaver, scoring by a nose from the fast-finishing Relief Rally.

Having raced twice in the US prior to her Royal Ascot success, connections are keen to give Crimson Advocate time off over the summer ahead of a Breeder's Cup tilt, held at Santa Anita Park. She is likely to be targeted at the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, which has been dominated by fellow US trainer Wesley Ward since it's creation in 2018 with three victories from five renewals.

"She has done a lot in a short amount of time, and she is an April 30 foal so we're going to give her a little breather and just let her get back underneath herself and hopefully make the Breeders' Cup later in the year," said trainer George Weaver.

"We're not looking to stretch her out right away. She's kind of built low to the ground and looks like a sprinter. She might be able to go further but I'm inclined to keep her in sprints.

"She's young and a baby and we just want to maximise what she can do. She's already won a Group Two in the Queen Mary and as far as sprinting on the turf goes over here, there is not too many lucrative opportunities between now and the Breeders' Cup and we think a little breather would help anyway so that's why we've decided to back off the gas a little bit.

"It would be ideal if we could maybe find something beforehand, there might be something at Keeneland for her."
