What can you do, you cant cry about it Nico de Boinville to miss Newbury rides after Doncaster fall

Nico de Boinville has been forced to miss rides on exciting prospects Willmount and Jeriko Du Reponet at Newbury on Saturday after suffering an injury at Doncaster on Friday.

It's been a mixed Christmas period for Nicky Henderson's number-one rider. Nico De Boinville steered Constitution Hill to a smooth success in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day but shortly after suffered a contrasting fate when he was unseated from Shishkin when in-front in the King George VI Chase.

The 38-year-old looked to hold every chance on board Therapist in the La-Z-Boy At KC Sofa's Fillies' Juvenile Maiden Hurdle at Doncaster on Friday but the pair suffered a heavy fall at he second-last.

De Boinville told Sky Sports Racing: "I think it's a collarbone job. I've got to go to the X-Rays and see how we are.

"What can you do, you can't cry about it."

De Boinville will be replaced by James Bowen, who gained a first Grade 1 success at Aintree on Boxing Day, in three races at Newbury on Saturday.

A second Grade 1 success in a matter of days could be on the cards for Bowen as he now partners Coral Challow Hurdle favourite Willmount, while the Seven Barrows-based rider will surely be looking forward to riding the extremely exciting JP McManus-owned Jeriko Du Reponet in the Coral Committed To Safer Gambling 'Introductory' Hurdle earlier on the card.
