Japan

Former Westbury Stud Westbury Stud stallion Makfi sired winners of the first two races at JRA-Hakodate. A 2yo colt winning over 1200m, then the following race a 3yo filly winning over 1700m. Makfi best performer in Japan is 3yo colt Vigenere, a winner of two and a second in a Listed race from seven starts.

Champion rider Christophe Lemaire won his 100th JRA race of the year.

Hong Kong

Just three meetings left till the end of the current season. J Moreira collected a three-timer on Sunday - his fourth since the start of June and looks set to win the jockeys Premiership with 152 wins, he is 29 wins in front of Zac Purton (123). Apprentice Jerry Chau has had a brilliant record-setting season with 52 wins - the most of any apprentice in a season since Matthew Chadwick's 43 in 2008/09. Casper Fownes (78 wins) is 8 wins in front of John Size in the Trainers Priemership.

South Korea

Good to see US bred Blue Chipper back on the track, finishing second on Sunday, giving weight, wide draw and running wide. Blue Chipper finished third in the G1 2019 Breeders Cup Dirt Mile for South Korea.

Singapore

Swiss Ace gelding Mr Malek won the Stewards Cup and the Mark Walker trained Savvy Command (Savabeel) also won on the card, both are headed towards the Singapore Derby in three weeks. Ex-pat kiwi Stephen Gray trained a double on Saturday.
