It is confirmed that the re-running of last Friday’s abandoned The Rock 95.2FM NZ Futurity final at the Hatrick Raceway will be on Friday, June 2.

The $25,000 event was declared a "no race" after Allen Hadrian fell when he was caught up in a first turn melee in the Group 1 520m event. He was disorientated when regaining his paws and turned back the wrong way.

Despite the valiant efforts by a couple of other trainers who had jumped onto the track, the Craig Roberts trained chaser eluded them and carried on towards the face of the oncoming field.

Lure driver Ray Udy made the right call when he pulled the lure to a stop at around the 480m mark, preventing potential serious injury to greyhounds by doing so. Head stipe Gavin Whiterod had no option but to declare a no race.
