It will be an all Lisa Cole trained NZ Racing Series Advanced post race podium at the Hatrick Raceway on Friday evening - that’s assured!

Yep, the nation’s leading conditioner for the current season has all ten listed greyhounds for the $11,000 New Zealand bred 520m feature event (race 9). Eight of those greyhounds were bred at the Palmerston North based ‘Bigtime’ kennels.

Here’s a look those runners starting with the two members of the talented Spring Gun – Hifi Allegro litter. Allegro Gun requires no introduction here. After all, he is the current Hatrick 305m track record holder (17.08s). He is also no slouch over this 520m trip either, holding a best 30.08s winning time. Possibly the only concern for him here is the requirement for him to exit from trap five. His early pace can assist him in that department.

Spring Gun also owns early pace and he is nicely placed to capitalize on that asset from the one trap here. It is a tactic that he must use and by doing so he can apply the pressure to his race rivals for a long way here. He has sound form from this trap, plus he also has a smart 29.96s best winning 520m listed against his name.

There are two members of the Cosmic Rumble - Darlyne Ottey litter engaged here. Bigtime Jason showed his open class 520m rivals a clean set of hind paws last Friday when led them throughout clocking a handy 30.06s. He dictated terms to the others by pinging away smartly from the six trap – he must do exactly that again from the seven trap on this occasion.

Litter brother Bigtime Power hasn’t been picking the jump in his latest assignments. This bloke has no option to get underway quickly from trap two. Admittedly he hasn’t enjoyed early racing luck lately. He was checked when leaving from trap two on Friday, then he diverted out a tad wide when backing up at the Manawatu Raceway on Monday.

Bigtime Bell is renowned for her strong finishing efforts and there is no doubt that nothing else in this field will finish stronger here than this daughter of Blue Lorian and Lost In Light. We saw an example of her power packed finish last Friday when she rattled home late for her 2.75 length second to Bigtime Jason. The one occasion she did jump smartly resulted in a tidy 29.97s 520m winning time for her.

Leaping from trap eight will be the now C3 graded son of Collision and Allegro Lily, Bigtime Basher. He did contest the open class 520m event last week where he was the victim of a fair degree of early jostling. The one previous occasion he carried the pink racing vest resulted in a traffic impeded seventh placing.

Completing the drawn field here are the two runners who didn’t begin their lives in the Bigtime kennels. Spare Some Time owns serious stake earning claims in this event. After all he led throughout when this son of Spring Gun and Real Clever stylishly won the recent The Rock 95.2FM NZ Futurity final at Group 1 level at this venue. It is best to forget his 520m miss last Friday when he wasn’t able to cross his rivals from trap eight during the run into the first turn. Drawing trap three here says he can get himself into a handy early position.
