Here’s took at the runners in both of the 520m heats.

NZRS Advanced, heat 1 – race 8
1 Tom Tee (Fabregas – Mini’s Fantasy): Classy greyhound who can be forgiven his last start Waikato Cup 457m heat miss. He’s a potent chaser around this circuit who demands respect.
2 Replica Yella (Yella Mustard – Zita Grace): He’s a C4 graded chaser who has been racing in recent combined C4/5 520m fields. Improved draw can assist his place claims in this event.
3 Nicey Spicey (Swift Fantasy – Assert): She has been contesting C4 295m sprints. She hasn’t raced over 520m here and she has missed in two previous Ascot Park 457m races.
4 Junk Mail (Barcia Bale – Jinja Power): He has made a solid start to open class racing as seen by his recent bold 520m efforts around here. He holds sound advancement claims from this heat.
5 Princely Gold (Fast Archer – Homebush Violet): He is also better known as a short course sprinter who has just one 520m placing at this venue from his ten previous attempts.
6 Boston Billy (Bit (Chili – Nina’s Girl): This bloke owns a cast iron constitution. He doesn’t know he’s C4 graded these days as seen by his bold C4/5 520m second to Junk Mail two races ago.
7 Opawa Shackley (Lochinvar Marlow – Opawa Born Free): She might be in the twilight of her glittering career, however she still has feature race claims left in her paws. Respect her.
8 Hilton Forabet (Above All – Jinja Cookie): She arrives into this heat facing her toughest career assignment after her solid pair of C3 520m & 390m wins. She is still improving and she has compiled tidy stats from this trap.
Reserves
9 Opawa Kevin (Cosmic Rumble – Miss Idol): He just recently returned into the C4 chasing ranks. He owns vast experience and he can deliver a competitive 520m effort from an inside trap.
10 Think Tank (Barcia Bale – Jinja Power): He’s a C4 graded litter brother to Junk Mail who has yet to win over this 520m trip.

NZRS Advanced, heat 2 – race 10
1 David’s Legacy (Lochinvar Marlow – Claremeont): He’s a C4 assessed chaser who has no option but to place himself straight onto the early pace. He placed in his only previous race from this trap.
2 Invincible Sue (Barcia Bale – Andrea): That was a tidy training performance from the master to produce this girl fresh up for her stylish C3 30.29s 520m win last Thursday. She would have benefited from that outing.
3 Nozzno Fear (Talk’s Cheap – Hard Habits): This New Zealand Cup finalist warmed up for this assignment via his tidy 26.16s Ascot Park 457m Tuesday win. He holds solid looking claims in this heat.
4 Vikings (Barcia Bale – Jinja Power): He has been hinting that he belongs in the echelon of chasers and he can confirm those thoughts by delivering on his known ability in this heat.
5 Fair Pippa (Barcia Bale – Jinja Power): She’s a litter sister to Vikings who has had her recent issues. She owns early pace, plus she owns strength at the business end. That says respect her here.
6 Crotty (Don’t Knocka Him – Emerge): He found himself jammed up in the midfield pack when upgrading from a C2/3 event to C4/5 over 520m last Thursday. He must break quickly here.
7 Opawa Timo (Fabregas – Opawa Eye): There’s no denying this guy’s race fitness heading into this event after his strong pace making last start 645m win at this venue. He must adopt those same pace making tactics here.
8 Opawa Cheviot (Fabregas – Opawa Eye): She owns the power to feature over the concluding stages as seen in the manner that she finished resolutely for her Southland 732m Tuesday second.
