There was some extraordinary betting movements involving the tote win pool during Sunday’s meeting. Extremely large win bets was lodged on some greyhounds including Tyson’s Quest in the NZ Sires, the C5 318m winner Classy Impact and on Diva Pose in the last race.

The last race, being race 13 wasn’t an exported comingled race meaning only New Zealand betting for taken on the C1 318m sprint. One minute out from race start time the tote win pool was showing a staggering $21,937, with Diva Pose indicating a win dividend of just $0.90. The race closed with an amazing $30,183 invested in the win pool.

Amazing because the usual Sunday race 13 uncomingled win pool closes at around the $3,000 to $4,000 level. At the close on Sunday Diva Pose had “eased out” to $1.20, while the race winner Jack No Lad “plunged” in from an indicated $85.80 with one minute of betting left into $17.70 when the pool closed.

The remarkable Manukau race 13 tote win pool with the indicated win dividends at 4.49pm (left) and the final indicated dividends at 4.50pm with a further $8,246 being invested during that final minute.
