Two 520m heats, raced last Thursday for the male greyhounds, decided the 2018 Kolorful Kanvas Garden City Classic field. Prefect Result won his heat in 30.15s for Ray Adcock, however he was withdrawn from the final prior to the box draw for this event.

Egomaniacal dictated the pace throughout when he delivered his solid 30.30s heat win for his trainers Dave and Jean Fahey. He is one of just two open class assessed chasers in this field. His heat win was delivered from trap one – in the final he moves out to the eight trap from where he placed the only previous time he jumped from out there. He owns sound looking claims here.

His kennel mate Mr. Matt is at the other end of the experience equation, with this promising looking C1 graded chaser lining up for his ninth career race here. His promise was illustrated by the bold 4.5 length heat second he delivered behind Perfect Result. This owner of a handy Addington 30.38s best 520m time has drawn nicely in trap one here.

Bruce Dann prepares the other C5 graded chaser in this field Full Speed. It was brave effort by him when he delivered his heat fourth after he was denied early racing room. He does own early pace as seen by his best 30.03s 520m winning time he has posted at this venue. He must use that early pace asset he has when he exits from trap three here.

Another greyhound is this line up who processes a fair amount of potential is Hankenstein from the Ashley Bradshaw kennels. He has quickly advanced through the grades, having now reached C4 level. He settled just in behind the pace being set by Egomaniacal, ultimately finishing a tick over ten lengths behind him. He’s hopping away from trap two here.

The John McInerney trained Princely Gold raced handy to the heat pace being set by Perfect Result, then he peaked a tad on his gallop during the run home when finishing fifth. He gained entry into the field after the withdrawal of Perfect Result. This C3 graded chaser delivered his heat effort from trap six, where is where he’s jumping from on Thursday.

Craig Roberts is enjoying considerable current Addington success, mainly led by the Dyna prefix named greyhounds he trains. Dyna Monty effectively got involved in a drag race with Egomaniacal throughout in his heat. He was brave when finishing just three quarters of length behind him. He then contested a C1 520m feature final on Tuesday where he had to overcome early traffic issues prior to finishing third. He receives no favours here after being allocated trap five to hop away from.

His litter brother Dyna Walter is the first reserve after he had to overcome a slow heat start which saw him improving into the midfield during the run home for his heat fifth placing behind Egomaniacal. Roberts also provides the second reserve with Dyna Bart who wound up sixth in his heat after being involved in some early race jostling. He does hold a C4 grading.

Know Conclusion was solid when this Gary Cleeve prepared chaser was sighted pressing on during the run home for his eight length heat third to Perfect Result. He then headed down to Forbury Park on Tuesday where he produced a strong finishing C2 545m second. He will be sighted wearing the blue racing vest on Thursday.

Completing the drawn field is the Janine Jopson conditioned Archie’s Ranger who will be loaded away into the seven trap in this decider. He boldly led home the chasing pack behind the duelling pair of pace setters headed by Egomaniacal when he wound up a 9.5 length third to him. He also headed south to Forbury Park on Tuesday where he endured a completely luckless outing.

No heats were required for this feature event for the girls. The highest graded chasers in this field are at C4 level, which includes the Ashley Bradshaw prepared Hilton Forabet, who finished a bold third in the NZ Oaks. She has been sighted contesting the pace in her latest outings from trap eight and that’s where she’ll jump from on Thursday. Those recent sound efforts has been delivered in C4/5 520m fields.

Bradshaw also provides the C3 graded Ming Ming who is capable of being able to contest the early pace just like she did in her recent 520m and 545m races. She has compiled sound lower grade Addington 520m form.

Viktoria Vikkers found herself contained in the rear group during her last C4/5 520m assignment at this venue. The Craig Roberts C4 trained chaser does benefit from an easing in class for this event, however she must place herself handy to the early pace from the six trap here.

Roberts also provides the first reserve Cawbourne Taber who occupies that place on the bench owing to her current C2 grading. Her claims, if racing here, certainly cannot be lightly dismissed as she stylishly won the Group 1 NZ Oaks at this venue back in April.

Also contesting that NZ Oaks final was the Ray Adcock mentored Invincible Sue. She does own early pace, which she displayed when she led home the vain chase behind the freewheeling Dyna Weslyn in her last 520m race here. She must break quickly from the seven trap here.

Raylene is another Adcock trained contender who found herself caught up in traffic on several occasions when she contested her Forbury Park C2 545m Tuesday race. She has no option but to quickly push forward after jumping away from trap five here.

Drawing to use her known early pace from trap one is Malaga Molly for John McInerney. She was sighted contesting the early pace in her latest 545m and 457m races. It is that asset that this auction purchased girl must use from her kind draw here.

Drawing on her kennelmates immediate outer is Debbie Baxter who fronts up to contest this event on the back of her recent 310m and 295m sprints. She has had just the one crack at 520m racing where after racing handy to the pace, she peaked a tad during the run home in her NZ Oaks heat.

The drawn field is completed by the Tony Hart and Kristy Taylor trained Martha’s Magic, who holds a C3 grading. She was held in the midfield pack throughout during her last start 520m race here when she was downgrading. She will be loaded away into the four trap on Thursday.

Providing the second reserve is Bruce Dann with his C1 assessed Token Hazel. She copped a decent check when going into the first turn in her C1 Tuesday 520m event. Prior to that she has effortlessly won her Maiden 520m in a rather smart 30.27s.
