Since posting the Points Winners below there has been some discussion regarding the Dam and Sire of the Year winners. Both of those announced were NZ BRED and in line with GRNZ's focus on developing NZ bloodstock and rewarding New Zealand bred greyhounds.

However we take on board your feedback that this is not consistent with some previous years, where the sire or dam have been merely domiciled in NZ. Part of our approach this year is to tidy up the criteria which historically has been very mixed, or indeed missing, for the awards. It seems however that for these two categories we may have moved too quickly and will instead look to put the approved criteria in place for next year.

Therefore this year's recognized and awarded winners for NZ Domiciled Sire, and NZ Domiciled Dam respectively are Yella Mustard, owned by Blair Shaw, and Allegro Star, owned by Lisa Cole. Congratulations.

The season has come to a close and the points tables verified and we're very pleased to announce the following winners based on points:

The Points Winners are:

Sprinter of the Year - Wheelchair Norm; Trained by John McInerney

Middle Distance Greyhound of the Year - Bigtime Paddy; Trained by Lisa Cole

Distance Greyhound of the Year - Ring the Bell; Trained by Ray Adcock

NZ Bred Greyhound of the Year - Bigtime Paddy; Trained by Lisa Cole

NZ Dam of the Year - Allegro Star; Owned by Lisa Cole

NZ Sire of the Year - Yella Mustard; Owned by Blair Shaw
