It's been nine days since Damian Lillard asked the Portland Trail Blazers for a trade to the Miami Heat, but according to Blazers general manager Joe Cronin, it could be a whole lot longer before he gets his wish. Cronin addressed the media on Monday, and he made it clear that he will be patient in seeking out the best possible deal. "If it takes months, it takes months," Cronin said.

The Toronto Raptors have developed a pesky habit of losing their best players for limited or even no value in recent years. Since their 2019 championship, Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green, Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka and Fred VanVleet have all walked for nothing. Kyle Lowry was traded for pennies on the dollar after it became clear that he planned to join the Miami Heat. Now, with several key players destined for 2024 free agency, the Raptors appear to be taking a more active approach.

The Detroit Pistons have re-signed Isaiah Stewart to a four-year, $64 million rookie extension, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. James L. Edwards reports that the fourth season on the deal is a team option and that there are incentives within the contract. Stewart's contract ends one of the NBA's more ignominious streaks.

The New York Knicks are signing Donte DiVincenzo to a four-year, $50 million deal, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal will take up New York's entire non-taxpayer mid-level exception, hard-capping them at first luxury tax apron of $172 million for the season. In New York, DiVincenzo will reunite with former Villanova teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, all three of whom were on the 2016 Wildcats national championship team.

Domantas Sabonis has agreed to a five-year, $217 million contract extension with the Sacramento Kings, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal includes $195 million in new money, with the remaining $22 million coming from his original 2023-24 salary. The Kings used the CBA's rarely-invoked renegotiate-and-extend mechanic which allows teams with cap space to give their players an immediate raise as part of the extension. This new deal will give Sabonis an extra $15 million or so this season, taking his salary from $22 million to above $37 million this season.
