Blazers GM Joe Cronin plans to be patient with Damian Lillard trade: 'If it takes months, it takes months'

It's been nine days since Damian Lillard asked the Portland Trail Blazers for a trade to the Miami Heat, but according to Blazers general manager Joe Cronin, it could be a whole lot longer before he gets his wish. Cronin addressed the media on Monday, and he made it clear that he will be patient in seeking out the best possible deal. "If it takes months, it takes months," Cronin said.

Knicks land Donte DiVincenzo on four-year, $50 million deal, per report

The New York Knicks are signing Donte DiVincenzo to a four-year, $50 million deal, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal will take up New York's entire non-taxpayer mid-level exception, hard-capping them at first luxury tax apron of $172 million for the season. In New York, DiVincenzo will reunite with former Villanova teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, all three of whom were on the 2016 Wildcats national championship team.

Domantas Sabonis agrees to five-year, $217 million extension with Kings, per report

Domantas Sabonis has agreed to a five-year, $217 million contract extension with the Sacramento Kings, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal includes $195 million in new money, with the remaining $22 million coming from his original 2023-24 salary. The Kings used the CBA's rarely-invoked renegotiate-and-extend mechanic which allows teams with cap space to give their players an immediate raise as part of the extension. This new deal will give Sabonis an extra $15 million or so this season, taking his salary from $22 million to above $37 million this season.
