The 2023 FIBA World Cup gold medal match is set, and it'll be Germany vs. Serbia in the final. Both teams pulled off major upsets on Monday to advance to the championship game, with Serbia beating Canada and Germany coming out on top against Team USA. The gold medal match between Serbia and Germany will take place at 8:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, with Team USA and Canada fighting for a bronze medal at 4:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, too.  

The NBA's vaunted developmental program will face some international competition this week as the NBL's Perth Wildcats come to the United States to take on G League Ignite. The series will wrap Friday night with a 9 p.m. ET tip at The Dollar Loan Center in Las Vegas. 

Stanley "Whitey" Von Nieda, the first former NBA player to become a centenarian, died on Wednesday at 101 years old. News of Von Nieda's passing, which occurred in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, was confirmed by the league on Friday. In June of 2022, he was honored by the National Basketball Retired Players Association for becoming the first former player to live to 100.
